Who’s Your Daddy Ride for Prostate Cancer Raises $14,711
The ninth annual Who’s Your Daddy Ride for Prostate Cancer, hosted by 94.5 Jack FM, raised $14,711 for the Prostate Assessment Centre at Regina’s Pasqua Hospital through Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Motorcyclists from across southern Saskatchewan took part in this year’s ride from Regina to Chamberlain and back.
Since 2009, Who’s Your Daddy has raised more than $170,000 to establish the Centre and provide funding for state-of-the-art technology and equipment through Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
“At Rawlco, we are committed to making a real difference in the lives of people in the communities we serve,” said Tom Newton, vice president and general manager of Rawlco Radio. “Our support of Hospitals of Regina Foundation and the Prostate Assessment Centre demonstrates that commitment. Through our support of Who’s Your Daddy, we’re doing our part to help ensure men in southern Saskatchewan have access to the best possible local health care when they need it.”
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men, with one in eight men being diagnosed. The Prostate Assessment Centre plays a critical role in providing patients with early detection, diagnosis and treatment. In 2017, more than 440 men received biopsies at the Centre.
“I am humbled by the generosity of people in this community, including our corporate supporters like Rawlco Radio,” said Hospitals of Regina Foundation President and CEO Dino Sophocleous. “We are dedicated to helping our hospitals provide the best possible local health care for the people of Regina and southern Saskatchewan. We certainly couldn’t do that without the commitment of partners like Rawlco Radio and the people who support events like Who’s Your Daddy each year. Thanks to them, men in this community are living better lives.”
