The Ambulatory Care Unit looks after thousands of hospital patients each year who have non-emergency medical procedures such as minor surgery, intravenous therapy, blood transfusions or diagnostic procedures like cardiac stress tests.  While most of these procedures are common for the medical teams, it is important to monitor each patient to confirm they are recovering safely from their procedure.  Key to making sure the patients are safe and recovering well are vital signs monitors, which measure blood pressure, temperature, respiration and more.
 
Thanks to two generous donations of almost $10,000 each to Hospitals of Regina Foundation by our long-time partner, SaskTel Pioneers, the Ambulatory Care Unit at Regina General Hospital will receive two urgently needed vital signs monitors.
 
SaskTel Pioneers is a volunteer organization made up of current and retired SaskTel employees and their families.  They have supported Regina’s hospitals since 1983 and, with a total contribution of more than $660,000 to date, the SaskTel Pioneers have supported priorities in the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care, including the NICU; the Mosaic Heart Centre; the Palliative Care unit; and the Wolfe Stroke Centre, to name a few.
