Hospitals of Regina Foundation is proud to support Regina’s hospitals and the wide range of programs and services offered by medical professionals in our city. Our donors enable to us to support everything from patient care to improving conditions for health-care teams, Including education, research and training opportunities for health-care professionals. In 2022, the Dilawri Simulation Centre celebrated it's 10 year anniversary of operation. It was launched in 2012 to answer a need from an increasing number of health-science students completing their training in Regina. The increased demand for practical, hands-on training created a need for a local, innovative training centre that included treal-time learning opportunities. Featuring a collection of lifelike mannequins that respond like real patients, the Centre provides an environment that realistically simulates a hospital setting. Thanks to the Foundation’s partnerships with community groups such as the Dilawri Foundation, our local health-care professionals are expertly trained and subsequently able to provide the highest-quality services and patient care. Since the Centre opened, more than 23,225 people have trained on-site. In 2018 alone, the Centre hosted more than 3,200 learners and ran more than 600 simulation sessions. With additional patient simulators coming on stream to help meet the growing demand for advanced educational opportunities for both SHA staff and academic partners, the number of trainees and simulations is expected to increase over the coming years.
